Associate Veterinarian
Bonnelyn Thwaits, DVM
Dr. Thwaits originally joined Coronado Veterinary Hospital as a relief veterinarian while working on Fort Huachuca. With nearly three decades of experience in Southeastern Arizona, she brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and dedication to the care of all species—large and small.
A graduate of the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Thwaits was commissioned into the U.S. Army prior to completing her veterinary degree. Her background combines military service, international teaching, and a lifelong commitment to animal health. She frequently travels abroad to educate veterinary students and livestock producers, sharing her expertise and passion for improving animal care around the world.
Dr. Thwaits practices mixed animal medicine and has a true passion for the diversity of veterinary work—from pets to livestock. When she’s not in the clinic or on the ranch, she enjoys horseback riding, SCUBA diving, traveling, and helping run her family’s ranch.
We’re proud to have Dr. Thwaits on our team, where her experience, energy, and global perspective make her a valuable asset to our clients and patients.
